Early life

Eminem was the only child of Marshall Bruce Mathers Jr. and Deborah Rae “Debbie”. His parents got separated when he was just one and a half years old. Before separation, his parents were also a part of the band Daddy Warbucks. Eminem was brought up by his mother all alone in a single-parent household tackling many challenges.

He used to send many letters to his dad but they were all marked as return to sender and his dad never came back.

His mother later had a son named Nathan “Nate” Kane Samara.

He and his mother changed many places or their residences again and again. That’s why he had to suffer a lot academically as well as mentally. It was difficult for him to make new friends and always bullied by Detroit’s black people. Even many times he was beaten up so badly.

Eminem’s Entry into Hip-Hop

In his childhood, we loved comic books so much that even he dreamt of being a comic star. But his uncle gifted him the song Reckless by Chris “The Glove” Taylor, featuring Ice-T, from the Breakin’ soundtrack. This song motivated him to be a hip-hop star and he loved it so much.

When he was 14 years old he adopted the name M&M from his initials which later evolved as Eminem.

At the age of 17, he dropped out of high school after remaining in the 9th standard for three years.

But all of this proved to be a turning point for Eminem and ultimately he conquered the heart of the universe by finding his inner self.

Eminem expressed himself as “Slim Shady” which was his frustrated, unapologetic, and fiery side.

In 1997, Eminem caught the interest of Dr. Dre with his Slim Shady EP. In 999, Eminem released The Slim Shady LP under Dr. Dre’s guidance and production.

It spiked his fame in the industry he became successful in expressing his uniqueness.

After that, he released “My Name Is,”, The Marshall Mathers LP (2000), and The Eminem Show (2002) albums which led him to single. This journey further goes on and he won multiple Grammy Awards. Not so long he was professionally known as a multi-platinum-selling American rapper.

Why Did Eminem Take a Break from His Career Despite His Massive Success?

Eminem had to face huge criticism from parents, government, and the media for his rebellious attitude but he did not care about them. But due to some reasons he fell prey to drug addiction and suffered a lot from depression.  In 2007, Eminem was on the verge of death but somehow he rehabilitated and came back in Relapse (2009) and Recovery (2010).
